      Dr. C. I. Scofield

Our History

Scofield Christian School began as a ministry of Scofield Memorial Church (now Scofield Church) and retains that affiliation with the church today. Dr. Harlin J. Roper, the third pastor of Scofield, founded the Scofield Christian Day School in 1961. It was the first preschool sponsored by an independent evangelical church in the Dallas area. The school was formed to provide children with thorough academic training within a truly Christian atmosphere.  Although the school started with preschool, it expanded to second grade by 1975 and to sixth grade by 1979.

Over the years, Scofield Christian School has been blessed with many strong instructional leaders. The first principal was Mrs. Gladys Phillips, who served from 1961 - 1970. Between 1971 and 2019, the school had nine principals before the arrival of our current Head of School, Dr. Traci Tucker in July 2019. With 30 years of experience in Christian education, Dr. Tucker believes that each child is unique and partners with parents to develop their child's intellect, character, and spiritual gifts to serve Jesus with their whole heart.
