Scofield Students are Trained to Lead

Missions Committee

Third through sixth-grade students have the opportunity to become involved in Scofield Christian School's Missions Committee. The students identify a need in the community or internationally and develop a program for the school to raise money. At the end of the year, the funds raised are giving to the person, family, or charity the students have identified to support them in their mission of doing good for our world.

Reading Buddies

The 5th and 6th graders at SCS engage in reading activities with the 4K students every week. The older students come to the 4K classrooms and read books to the younger students in small groups or one-on-one. The older students learn how to read with fluency in an engaging manner while building excitement about reading in the younger students. Both groups enjoy interacting with each other and usually end their time with some puzzle work or alternate activities. The older students also host a “Happy Birthday, Jesus” party for their 4K friends at Christmas and a popsicle party for them toward the end of school. Everyone benefits from these mentoring relationships!
